Open PTO Policy
Take time when you need it and own your destiny. Whether it’s a planned vacation to Italy, a day off to spend with friends, or a surprise sick day, we want to make sure you’re taking the time you need to power down. Plus, we have specific policies for parental leave, personal leave, and jury duty that complement the open PTO.
We also take time off to celebrate the following holidays each year:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King Day
- 4K Founding Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving (two days)
- Winter Holiday (generally the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve)
- New Year’s Eve
All full-time team members are eligible for 100% paid medical insurance, including vision and dental, with the option to add their family members at an extra cost. Our health policy is a Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, and our vision and dental are offered through Principal, both leading benefits providers for small businesses. Every year you’ll be able to get either a year’s supply of contacts or a brand new pair of glasses to ensure that you can see us on the screen, and we’ll keep you smiling with two completely covered dental cleanings.
Short and Long Term Disability Insurance
We want to make sure you’re not worried about what would happen in the case of an injury, so we offer employer-paid disability insurance for our team members.
Whether you’re planning an early retirement or a long career, we want to help you reach your goals. Four Kitchens offers a 3% non-elective employer contribution to your retirement savings, regardless of whether you contribute toward it yourself.
Professional Development and Education Budget
We offer each of our full-time team members a $2,000 annual professional development and education budget. This can be spent on conferences, seminars, classes—anything that advances your professional goals.
Being a fully distributed company, we recognize that your home office has needs, too. We offer each of our team members a $150/month tech stipend to spend on anything from a new chair to better Internet.
