For an impactful nonprofit organization like Jewish Family Service LA (JFSLA), its Annual Gala is not just a night of celebration. It is the primary engine for raising critical funds that sustain their food assistance, mental health, and vulnerable family support programs.
The 2026 Gala, held at the Skirball Cultural Center, was a high-profile event. With honorees and guests of the stature of leaders in the entertainment and philanthropy industries — such as Mandana Dayani, Peter Traugott, and Randy Magnin — and the backing of major sponsors like Warner Bros. Television Group and Creative Artists Agency, thousands of donors were watching the organization closely.
Behind the event’s lights was a critical component: the event’s website. This portal served as the primary hub for ticket purchases, high-value sponsorships, and direct donations, as well as showcasing honoree profiles. With so much at stake, there was no tolerance for website failure. This is where our Support and Maintenance service came into action.
Our challenge: managing pressure and traffic spikes

During the weeks prior, and especially in the hours of the gala, website traffic behavior changes drastically. The main challenges we faced included:
- Unforeseen traffic spikes: Thousands of users accessing simultaneously to register, check honoree biographies, or make donations from their phones during the event.
- Last-minute updates: In events of this magnitude, content changes happen under time pressure. Adding a last-minute sponsor, adjusting agenda details, or updating critical information requires immediate agility.
Proactive support, not just standby maintenance
Having a Support and Maintenance subscription means the client has not only basic maintenance but a strategic partner ready to act under high-pressure conditions. For the 2026 Gala, the Web Chefs implemented a three-phase action plan:
- Preparation and stability (pre-event): Before the event, our team built the landing page with all the information provided by the client, verified that the page was loading correctly, and confirmed that site performance was ideal. We paused all development updates two days before the event to protect site stability
- Proactive real-time monitoring (during the gala): As the event unfolded, our technical team stayed on alert to resolve any anomaly before it affected a single user
- Agile content support: We established a direct communication channel with the JFSLA communications team to immediately upload any necessary changes to sponsor lists, from Benefactors to the Community level
Why Support and Maintenance? Optimization beyond stability
Continuous support is not only about “keeping the lights on,” but it is about actively improving platform performance. For the JFSLA 2026 Gala landing page, the team implemented key structural improvements that directly impact the donor experience.
Through Google Analytics (GA4) monitoring, we verified that our code optimizations and multimedia asset compression kept the site fast and responsive. As a result, users averaged 3.47 pages per session for the landing page. This suggests the site not only loaded quickly but actively encouraged attendees to explore the honorees’ biographies and the organization’s history without any technical friction.
We also refined the sponsor table and list design, from large corporations to community collaborators, to ensure that visual hierarchy was clear, accessible, and legible on both desktop and mobile screens.
The result: a night that worked, end to end
Thanks to the strategic nature of Support and Maintenance and detailed analysis of real campaign data, the digital component of the 2026 Gala performed without interruption:
- The website remained online without interruption and the page drew significant traffic across the JFSLA portal, accumulating 4,593 total views and attracting 1,323 active users.
- The portal recorded 1,760 initial sessions that went directly to the gala, bringing in 1,115 new users who interacted with the organization’s digital ecosystem for the first time.
- Although an external platform processed final ticket sales and donations, the landing page operated as an effective funnel. The friction-free design drove users to complete 3,011 key events on calls-to-action, reaching a conversion rate per session of 34.49%.
- Most importantly, the organization’s team was able to focus entirely on attending to their guests and celebrating the impact of their work, with the confidence that their digital platform was in expert hands.
Your technology must rise to the occasion
JFSLA’s Gala shows what Support and Maintenance looks like under pressure. Web support isn’t just about fixing errors when something breaks; rather, it’s about making sure technology holds up when it matters most, protecting reputation and revenue in the moments that count.
Your next high-stakes moment deserves the same support. Let’s talk about Support and Maintenance.
